Life has changed a lot over the last few years and parents don’t always know what to make of the things their teenagers find the most important. Even the education system takes a very different direction to the one we may have been used to when we were growing up. Teenagers today are subject to many influences and they do not always cope well with the associated stresses.

Teens are capable of an astonishingly wide range of behaviours and their problems can be much more diverse than those we see in younger children.  Depression, sadness, social distress, school anxiety, anger and behavioural issues are all things that we see regularly. If your teen seems to have lost their way or your family is stressed from trying to cope, it’s a good time to seek advice. School counsellors of your GP can advise if they are best placed to assist, or if the teenager needs some more personalised attention.
